A group of residents of Palm Beach County in Florida made their cases Tuesday before the vote by the county board of commissioners against government-mandated face coverings in public areas.
According to Now This News, the meeting erupted in anger with residents accusing the panel members of being "insane"and "communist dictators."
The meeting was captured on video, with the anti-mask activists claiming that mandating masks is the "devil's law."
“This is insane. And then you want to open the meeting with a prayer to God. Are you praying to the devil? Because God is not listening to that prayer. Because all of you are practicing the devil’s law,” one woman said angrily.
A woman by the name of Whitney, who identified herself as an essential worker explained that she doesn't “wear a mask for the same reason I don’t wear underwear." Adding that "things gotta breathe.”
Another anti-mask activist said, “They want to throw out God’s wonderful breathing system out of the door. You’re all turning your backs on it.”
Orange County's Sheriff has said that he won't enforce the state's mandate to wear a mask.
California Gov. Newsom announced mandated face coverings for all Californians while in public both indoors and out.
Experts attribute the refusal to cover up their nose and mouths to things such as freedom, vanity, discomfort and even confusion, reported CNN.
