Actor, producer, writer and veterans activist Vince Vaughn spoke with In-Depth hosts Charles Feldman and Mike Simpson Thursday about his early career and the meritorious service medal he will be awarded from the U.S. Army at the Army ball on Saturday night. Vaughn's family has a long history of military service.
Vaughn tells In-Depth he got his start with a Chevy commercial in Chicago.In 1988 Vaughn moved to Hollywood, and by 1993 he got his first break with the film "Rudy," where he connected with screenwriter and actor Jon Favreau, who was working on a script detailing his life as an out-of-work actor.
Vince was written into the film "Swingers" by Favreau, to play the character of "Trent."
But it was his role in Steven Spielberg's film "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" in 1997 where Vaughn was catapulted into stardom. Vaughn can be seen in "A Cool, Dry Place (1998), "Return to Paradise," (1998) "Clay Pigeons," (1998) "Old School," (2003), "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story," (2004), "Wedding Crashers," (2005), and "Couples Retreat" (2009).
