The Los Angeles Police Department detectives are on the hunt for a driver of a black Ford Fusion who struck and killed a pedestrian in South L.A. and then fled from the accident with offering help.
Rufino Miranda, 47 was struck and killed by the car on December 4 at around 9: 30 p.m. as he attempted to cross Avalon Boulevard.
Miranda was transported to a local hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department where he later died.
The City Council amended recently amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender's identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
