
According to three U.S. intelligence officials, the son and potential successor of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, Hamza bin Laden, is dead
So far, no details have been released on how he died or if the U.S. played a role in his death.
The last public statement released by al Qaeda's media arm in 2018, was the last known message from Hamza bin Laden.
President Trump refused to comment to reporters when asked about Hamza's death.
Hamza is thought to be around 30-years-old. He's aligned with his father's ideology and has appeared in multiple videos with him.
Osama bin Laden oversaw operations against Western targets that culminated in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York's World Trade Center and on the Pentagon.
Hamza was being groomed to lead al Qaeda, according to an article on Combating Terrorism at West Point.
