(KNX 1070) - West Hollywood mayor John Duran is under growing pressure to resign with three City Council members now calling for him to step down because of sexual misconduct allegations.
Duran, who is a member of the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, has been accused of sexually harassing several other singers in the group.
He strongly denies doing anything wrong and tells the Los Angeles Times he believes an investigation will prove that.
Councilmembers Lindsey Horvath, Lauren Meister and John D’Amico have all said the accusations are divisive, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Horvath wrote on a public Facebook post that "Our City cannot focus on the work of the people when we have to address new and numerous allegations of sexual misconduct, including whether our Mayor used his title to solicit sexual favors. It is not fair to the people of this City to continue seeing "West Hollywood" in the same sentence as these allegations. Our City deserves better."
