(KNX 1070) -- The Reverend Al Sharpton says that it's time for California to change how it responds to police killings of civilians.

Flanked by members of the Clark family and attorney Ben Crump, Sharpton had terse words for District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert. He alleged that her decision not charge the two officers who shot Stephon Clark was a  “national disgrace,” and urged support of a bill – AB 392.

Sharpton spoke on the anniversary of the fatal shooting of Clark, 22, who was killed by police in Sacramento.

Sharpton says he wants to hear more than a few bars of "Amazing Grace" from the presidential candidates. He added that he will hold officers accountable for the shootings of unarmed civilians.

Prosecutors will not be charging the officers, saying that police feared for their lives because they thought Clark had a gun. It turned out to be a cellphone.
