SANTA ANA (CNS) - Santa Ana police today released surveillance video of a knife-wielding shoplifter in the hopes that it helps generate tips leading to an arrest.
The suspect grabbed clothes from racks at the Macy's store at the MainPlace mall at 2850 N. Main St. about 7 p.m. Jan. 16, and attempted to leave without paying when he was confronted by security guards, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
The suspect whipped out a knife from his pants pocket and swung it at one of the guards before dropping the clothes and running away, Bertagna said.
