State lawmakers are demanding answers from the DMV on reforming the agency after a series of failures from long customer wait times to computer outages.

Vince Fong from Bakersfield had this question for the acting director of the DMV:

"You're asking for $224 million above the existing budget. How much of the $224 million is going to new infrastructure and improving this IT infrastructure?" he said.

Acting Boss Kathleen Webb told him the agency is working hard on the problems.

She said the agency is trying to fix a very old system.
