(KNX 1070) - Crews are now doing emergency work to remove debris at the site of that 100-foot-long sinkhole near condos in La Habra.
Shannon Widor with Orange County Public Works tells KNX there's no indication right now that the sinkhole could get larger.
The sinkhole and collapse of a private underground storm drain happened last week.
It was unclear at the time who owned the storm drain. But officials now say it belongs to the impacted condo complex, which will be in charge of fixing it.
People living close to the sinkhole on West Imperial Highway, near Idaho Street, had been urged to leave their homes as a precaution. The sinkhole was caused by the collapse of an underground flood control channel underneath a greenbelt in the middle of the complex, according to NBC4.
Looks like a huge underground channel for floodwater gave way, but Orange County officials aren’t sure who owns it.
