3 LAPD officers injured, including 2 critically, in hit-and-run freeway crash

LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Three Los Angeles police officers were injured early Monday morning in a hit-and-run crash on the 110 Freeway in the Pico Union area of L.A.

The crash, which involved an LAPD squad car, happened at 2:12 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway near Olympic Boulevard, KTLA reported.

Arriving personnel found three patients, including two initially in critical condition, who were later confirmed by the LAPD to be officers, according to the outlet.

They all were taken to a local hospital and were in stable condition as of 6 a.m. Monday, police said.

Fox 11 reported three officers in another vehicle witnessed the crash and arrested the suspected hit-and-run driver.

A SigAlert was issued for the closure of the southbound side of the 110 after the crash. Lanes remained closed for the investigation for at least five hours.
