The 911 system is down for many cities in the Coachella Valley.
Shane Reichardt with Riverside County's Office of Emergency Operations told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener that the system for how 911 calls are processed went down.
“The system that serves Coachella Valley and distributes those calls to those different public safety answering points was impacted,” he said.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office provided alternate dispatch phone lines - (951)684-0911 and (951)776-1278.
Those who live in Palm Springs should call 760-327-1441 for police, fire, or medical assistance.
Those who live in Indio should call 760-775-3730 for emergencies. The non-emergency dispatch number is 760-391-4051.
Those who live in Cathedral City should call 760-770-0303 for police or fire-related matters.
Our 911 phone lines are currently down. Please call 760-770-0303 for any police or fire related matter. Frontier communications is working on the problem, but there is no estimated time for repair. pic.twitter.com/VqH0TuHuPu
