The terrorist group Hamas has called for a global “Day of Action” Friday.
The Anti-Defamation League is warning people that we could see some extremists and anti-Semitism at planned protests across Southern California.
KNX reporter Emily Valdez spoke with Peter Levy from the ADL, who said while they will not make recommendations on whether or not institutions with Jewish affiliation should close, given the heightened tensions, they strongly recommend taking stock of security capabilities and deciding accordingly.
As for individuals, Levy said, "Be aware."
He suggests that if you see protesters and you don't like it, don't confront them, leave them alone. Even if you see acts of vandalism, report it, do not engage.
Levy urges everyone to report any hate incident and crime to the police and the ADL on their website.
