Mar Vista residents say 10 aggressive coyotes are eating pets and aren’t afraid to get near humans.

Neighbors said there have been missing cats in the area and that coyotes have followed people walking their dogs. Janelle Arias, a Mar Vista resident, told KNX News’ Emily Valdez that some  of the coyotes will just walk up to windows and look inside.

“I have security cameras all over my house and I see them coming through from the hill behind our house into our property in and out all day, and now they're so bold that they'll just come into our backyard while we're there,” Arias said.

The area isn’t near a big wild space, so the coyotes live in the neighborhood. Residents want the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to do something about the coyotes before they eat any more pets or start attacking young children.

A spokesperson from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife told KNX News he’s looking into the issue.
