A police car and a civilian vehicle collided in Sun Valley Monday, killing a 70-year-old man and injuring two police officers, authorities said.
The crash was reported just before 2 p.m. Monday, near the intersection of West Saticoy Street and Cleon Avenue, two blocks east of Vineland Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The 70-year-old man was trapped in his vehicle beyond medical help and authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
Two police officers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, an LAPD spokesperson told City News Service.
Details regarding what led to the collision were not immediately clear.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, West Saticoy Street in Sun Valley will remain closed between Vineland and Riverton avenues for an unspecified period due to the collision.
