The Oscars are trading Hollywood for Downtown Los Angeles.
Beginning in 2029, the show will move to the Peacock Theater, which is where the Emmys were held in September.
The move back downtown coincides with the Oscars moving from ABC to YouTube under a new global rights deal.
In addition to the move, officials are planning upgrades to the stage, sound, lighting, lobby, and backstage areas.
The Oscars have been hosted at the Dolby Theatre, formerly the Kodak Theatre, since 2002. Before that, it was held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in DTLA.
