Los Angeles (KNX) - An elderly woman has lost her life after being struck by a school bus in La Puente.

The accident occurred around 2:20 PM Monday near the intersection of Fair Grove Avenue and Hacienda Boulevard. According to deputies, the woman was not using a crosswalk at the time she was hit.
Authorities pronounced the woman dead at the scene. At the time of the crash, children were on board the school bus, but no one else sustained any injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident, as they handle traffic collisions involving school buses.
