De Jesus is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds with black hair and dark-colored eyes. He was wearing a white shirt, white pants and clear- framed glasses when last seen.

He is considered at risk because he did not return from hiking when expected, and there have been high temperatures, particularly in the desert.

Anyone who can help reunite De Jesus with his family was urged to call the sheriff's homicide bureau at 323-890-5500.
