HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KNX) – A restaurant owner in Huntington Beach was hospitalized after she burned her legs.

On Jan. 19, Atsuko “Ana” Nakao, who co-owns VegiLicious with her husband, Akira, received second and third-degree burns after her pants caught fire from a gas heater while serving one of the patio tables, according to the GoFundMe created for her.

Akira told NBC Los Angeles that someone from the restaurant next door brought over a blanket and helped Ana. The person was identified as Jon Dorenbos, former NFL player and “America’s Got Talent” finalist.

“I grabbed my wife’s blanket, I got (Ana) to the ground and just was like ‘Okay I got you I got you you’re going to be alive you’re okay,’” Dorenbos recalled to the news station.

The GoFundMe said Ana had two surgeries, the most recent lasted 11 hours and “all skin grafting were successfully completed.”

“Although she’s in pain, her mental mind is still strong. She has a heart to recover and serve customers again,” Akira told the news station.

So far, over $116,500 have been raised on Nakao's GoFundMe.

VegiLicious remains closed, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.
