LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Once again, tax season is upon us, and Americans across the United States are scrambling to gather their documents and file them correctly. Are you ready?
It's ok if the answer is no. But if you made less than $57,000 last year, there's free help to get you prepared in Los Angeles County.

Central City Neighborhood Partners (CCNP) are offering free tax prep appointments to help the thousands of Angelenos across the county who are in that income bracket. All you have to do is call or email.
"File with confidence at a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site and keep more of your money," the program touts on its website,
"IRS-certified volunteers provide free, basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. Persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their tax returns are encouraged to participate."
CCNP said the average savings are $300.
Tax preparation hours will be held between Feb. 12 and 26, March 12 to 26 and April 2 and 9. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends. The last day to prepare taxes on time is April 15.
