Luke Walden allegedly attempted to buy the silencer on website in April 2021, the department said. He was arrested following an investigation conducted by the Professional Standards Bureau.

“Reverence for the law is an unbending expectation of each member of this department,” Chief Michel Moore said in a statement. “The circumstances of this investigation trouble me greatly given the responsibilities of the involved detective.”
