Man dies after being hit by train in Burbank

BURBANK, Calif. (KNX) – A man is dead after being struck by a train Thursday morning in Burbank, police said.

Around 6 a.m., police and paramedics responded to a pedestrian struck by a moving train at 1150 North Victory Place.

Upon arriving at the scene, the man was found on the ground right next to the tracks, according to a press release. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The conductor of the train stayed on the scene and neither the conductor nor the passengers aboard the train were injured, police said.

Witness testimonies and surveillance footage revealed the man had intentionally put himself across the tracks as the train approached.
