Man fatally shot in Norwalk, suspect still at large

Sheriff's homicide detectives Thursday are continuing their investigation of a fatal shooting in Norwalk during an altercation and the suspect is still at large.

Deputies from the Norwalk Sheriff's Station responded to Pioneer Boulevard and Los Alisos Circle at around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday following a report of a shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau.

When they arrived at the residence, deputies found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead.

According to sheriff's homicide investigators, the unknown suspect drew a handgun during a confrontation and shot the victim.

The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
