On arrival, deputies said they found a man had barricaded himself in the home. Deputies negotiated with the man for about an hour, according to a statement from the sheriff’s department.

The man emerged from the home and ran toward deputies with a knife, deputies said. At this point, one or more officers fired at least one shot at him.

No deputies were injured and the man was transported to an area hospital for treatment. He was still hospitalized as of Wednesday, according to a sheriff’s department spokesperson.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
