Hours after hundreds of residents in Encino attended a meeting with law enforcement officials regarding crime in the area, two homes were broken into, including one belonging to “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddi Mellencamp.
The first break-in happened at a home in the 4900 block of Enfield Avenue, and the second happened at Hayvenhurst Drive.
Mellencamp's estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, told KNX News’ Jon Baird that the break-in happened about 10 p.m. Monday while he, Teddi, and their four children were home.
“Three individuals jumped the gate, and they broke into one of the office bedrooms,” he said. “The alarm immediately went off and they immediately went out.”
Arroyave added that he will take more precautions and plans to get another dog… to help keep burglars at bay.
This comes a week after “American Idol” exec Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were found dead inside their Encino home. Raymond Boodarian, 22, was arrested and charged in their deaths.

Roberta, a resident in the area, told Baird she’s worried about crime in the area.
“I wish that we did more about it and that we knew more,” she said. “Those are the things I think about.”
