WATCH: Former child actor Ricky Schroder captured on video accosting 2 Costco workers over mask guidelines

Best known for his starring role in the 1980s sitcom “Silver Spoons,” former child actor Ricky Schroder was captured on video Sunday as he accosted two Costco employees over mask mandates.

Video of the encounter with Schroder, wearing his “blue lives matter” cap while berating the workers, immediately went viral.

After one of the employees attempted to politely explain that even though the CDC had lifted its guidelines for masks for those who are fully vaccinated, Los Angeles County had not. A frustrated Schroder went on to demand a refund from one of the workers and then yelled for others in the store to take up the issue and do the same. No one did.

Last year, Schroder donated $150,000 in bail money for Kyle Rittenhouse, the teen accused of shooting and killing two people during a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, as reported by TMZ.

On May 14, Costco released a statement in regard to the CDC guidelines, saying that it would follow the recommendations accept "in those Costco locations where the state or local jurisdiction does have a mask mandate, we will follow the state or local regulations and continue to require members and guests to wear a face mask or face shield," the statement read.

Schroder was given a refund by the store’s manager and later issued an apology saying in part that he wanted “to make a point to the corporate overlords, and sorry that I had to use you to do it.”

“If I hurt your feelings I apologize,” he added, “but I do think that independence from medical tyranny is more important than hurting people’s feelings.”
