LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Los Angeles County health officials announced the county’s second suspected case of monkeypox on Wednesday.
The patient is an adult who “has history of recent travel” and is symptomatic but is doing well, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The person is isolating at this time.
Health officials are investigating and conducting contact tracing.
This comes less than a week after the county announced its first suspected case, and a couple weeks after California first suspected case was found in Sacramento.
Health officials say the risk of monkeypox for the general population is still very low.
