A pair of small earthquakes rattled the southeast Los Angeles area, although the magnitude of the temblors was downgraded Wednesday.

The U.S. Geological Survey initially reported a pair of 3.0-magnitude quakes occurring near Bell, one at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday and another four minutes later at 9:41 p.m.

Early Wednesday morning, the USGS revised the magnitude of the initial quake to 2.7. The second shaker was revised downward to 2.8.

Both shakers were centered just west-southwest of Bell and east of Walnut Park. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

The earthquake was centered 1.2 miles northeast of South Gate and 1.3 miles northwest of Cudahy.

It follows a magnitude 3.0 earthquake that was centered about a half mile southwest of Bell at 9:41 p.m. Tuesday.
