SoCal gas prices on the rise, but remain lower than 1 year ago

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose nine-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.64, its 12th increase in the last 13 days.

The average price has increasing 16.4 cents during the last 13 days, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.1 cents more than one week ago, 16.7 cents higher than one month ago and 4.2 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.853 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose a half-cent Monday to $4.607, its 12th straight increase. It is 5.5 cents more than one week ago, 18.9 cents higher than one month ago and 8.4 cents more than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped $1.851 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $3.19, after three consecutive decreases totaling 2.2 cents. The national average price is 2.9 cents more than one week ago and 3.9 cents higher than one month ago, but 14.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.826 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
