Residents in burn scar areas are preparing for the incoming storm.
In an interview with L.A.’s Morning News on Tuesday, Pasadena mayor Victor Gordo urged residents to be prepared ahead of time.
“We're asking those residents to listen for evacuation warnings, have a go bag prepared, and then if they receive an evacuation order to immediately evacuate,” he said.
Gordo also urged residents to pick up sandbags if needed. Sierra Madre residents George and Carol, who live in a burn scar area, told KNX News’ Karen Adams they bought back 25 sandbags for their home.
“Because we have a debris basin right up around the corner from us, we just like to be prepared rather than sorry later,” George said.
They added that the storm isn’t disrupting their holiday plans.
“ We generally have people over, so we just have a little extra work with sandbagging and helping our neighbors,” Carol said.
Adams also reported that K-rails were installed along East Loma Alta Drive near Skyview and other areas prone to mudslides, heavy runoff, and debris flow.
