LOS ANGELES (KNX) – The Taste of the NFL event treated Los Angeles residents to the three F’s of Super Bowl weekend: food, football, and fun.
The culinary event was held at the Petersen Automotive Museum Saturday afternoon. Presented by Frito-Lay and the PepsiCo Foundation, the event featured multiple culinary treats for guests to enjoy, including ice cream, cocktails, and charcuterie favorites.
The event also included cook-off with celebrity chefs Carla Hall, Andrew Zimmern, Lasheeda Perry, Ming Tsai, and Mark Bucher. In the cook off, the celebrity chefs were paired into two teams and battled it out with gourmet specialties fit for Super Bowl Sunday.
While the Taste of the NFL was about food and drinks, it was also about tackling youth food insecurity. Money at the event was donated to GENYOUTH’s End Student Hunger Fund, which helps deliver school meals to students who rely them.
“Students in America, one in six, they’re living with food insecurity, and over 30 million students rely on school meal programs for their daily nutrition,” GENYOUth President and Chief Wellness Officer Ann Marie Krautheim told FOX 11. “So this money that we’re raising at this event will help increase access to those meals among students in high need communities.
There were also moderated discussions that focused and addressed multiple issues and causes, including equality in sports and the culinary world.
