Former Los Angeles City Councilman Tom LaBonge will be honored on Saturday with a day of service.

The community clean-up event will be happening at four different locations - North Hollywood, Silver Lake, Pacoima, and Mid-City.

This is the second year since LaBonge’s passing that the event will be held.
His daughter, Mary-Cate, told KNX News’ Margaret Carrero LaBonge was about jumping into action.

“He was all about just jumping into things,” she said. “So if he saw a gutter that needed clearing, if he saw trash and picking up…he liked the immediate action ability of those things. So I think the day of service is a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and realize that you can make a pretty big impact with ‘small’ actions.”
