Two bodies found on O.C. beach

DANA POINT, Calif. (KNX) — The bodies of a man and woman were found Friday morning on Salt Creek beach in Dana Point. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department was leading the investigation, and disclosed they did not suspect foul play.

Investigators were called to the beach near the Ritz-Carlton hotel shortly before 7 a.m. on a report of bodies on the beach. One was reported to be in their 50s, the other in their late 70s.

“There are not indications of foul play at this point or suspicious circumstances,” said sheriff’s Sgt. Ryan Anderson on Friday afternoon. “It appears to be an isolated incident and there are no security concerns.”

Causes of death may take weeks to determine, pending various autopsy tests. The identities of the bodies have not yet been released while authorities work to contact next of kin.
