Two men wounded in Whittier drive-by shooting

WEST WHITTIER (CNS) - Two men were wounded on a unincorporated Whittier street, authorities said today.

The shooting occurred about 9:15 p.m. Sunday on Whittier Boulevard near the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, said Sgt. C. Vandenberg of the Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station.

The two men were walking when a sedan pulled up alongside them, a window was rolled down and three shots were fired, Vandenberg said.

Both men were wounded, Vandenberg said.

Paramedics took the victims to a hospital where their vital signs were stable, Vandenberg said.

Police said no suspect information was available.
