More than $60 million has been secured to help restore all of Altadena’s parks destroyed in the Eaton Fire.
The money comes from both the public and private sectors, according to Norma García-Gonzalez, who serves as director of the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation.
“From Fire Aid, who contributed 2.4 [million] for the Loma Alta playgrounds, to the Dodger Dream Fields, to the Clipper courts, to Disney with the playground for Charles White, to the state of California from the governor, so many funders,” she told KNX News’ Karen Adams.

L.A. County Supervisor Katherine Barger said two out of three phases of Farnsworth Park are fully funded.
“Our friends at the Pasadena Rotary Club gave $250,000, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic gave $150,000 to restore the iconic Farnsworth Amphitheater,” she said.
Garcia Gonzalez says more than $190 million is still needed to restore all of Altadena's parks and trails, including Eaton Canyon and the Altadena golf course, which has gone through its first phase toward restoration.
