West Covina police seeking suspect in fatal hit-and-run in August

West Covina police Tuesday sought the public's help to find the hit-and-run motorist responsible for fatally injuring a 72-year-old man who was crossing a street in August.

The West Covina man was injured about 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 at Glendora Avenue just north of Vine Avenue, according to the West Covina Police Department. Information was not immediately available on the identity of the man, who died at a hospital.

According to police, who circulated security images of the hit-and-run vehicle, the man was struck by a white or silver SUV that kept going. No description was released of the motorist.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the police Traffic Bureau at 626-939-8513.
