Residents have been warned that high gusts can produce dust clouds and significantly reduce visibility, creating potentially dangerous driving conditions. High winds can also move unsecured objects and cause tree limbs to take down power lines.

The NWS urged caution Wednesday when driving, especially in high-profile vehicles like pick-up trucks and SUVs. Residents were also encouraged to secure outdoor objects, such as patio furniture and planters.

High wind watches were in place for Acton, Mount Wilson, and Sandberg from Thursday afternoon through Friday as well, with northeast winds expected to be between 25 and 35 miles per hour and gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
