LOS ANGELES (KNX) — The Mayor of Los Angeles reminded Angelenos Thursday that the county's Winter Shelter Program remains open through the end of March, offering all Angelenos without a roof over their heads to find shelter and free meals.

Held annually from Nov. 1 to March 31, the program helps protect people who are experiencing homelessness during the colder months in L.A.

Winter shelters are located all across L.A. County and are operating 24 hours a day due to COVID-19, according to the shelter program's website.

"Shelters follow new 'safer at home' guidelines to keep everyone healthy and safe indoors," according to program officials, "This includes daily temperature checks and staff conducting a COVID-19 screening questionnaire."

In addition to three hot meals a day, all who arrive for shelter can expect to be allowed to enter with their pets and emotional support animals.
