DALLAS (KRLD) — Got allergies? A recent study reveals that could keep you from catching the coronavirus.
People who suffer from allergies show to have a far lower risk of contracting COVID-19. A new study conducted by researchers at London's Queen Mary University, found that people who are affected by allergens are 40 percent less likely to develop COVID than the average non-allergy sufferer.

In a surprising turn, the study also found that people with asthma, who were previously considered to be a high-risk group, have a 38% lower risk of becoming infected.
More than 16,000 adults between May 1, 2020, and Feb. 5, 2021 were surveyed.
The researchers noted that the study is observational and cannot establish cause.
