Pet food maker Sunshine Mills is voluntarily recalling certain dog food products over worries the food may contain unacceptably high levels of Aflatoxin, a mold byproduct. Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring byproduct but can be harmful to pets if consumed in large amounts.
Retailers nationwide sold the affected products, including Triumph, Evolve, Wild Harvest, Nurture Farms, and Elm brand dog foot.
Retailers who received the recalled pet food have been contacted, so they can pull these affected lots from the shelves.
According to the Food and Drug Administration, no pets have become ill in connection with these products so far.
The affected products are listed below and can be found in the recall notice.
The affected products all have a "best if used by date" of Feb. 11, 2022.
