Father of 7 dies of COVID-19

A Phoenix family is in mourning after losing their patriarch to COVID-19.

Marco Nira, 38, is the father of seven children -- four daughters and three sons.

Alyso Montano, Nira’s wife tells Fox11 LA "It's the most awful, awful feeling I've ever experienced."

Montano lost her husband after her spent 26 days in the hospital, 17 on a ventilator.

"I've had a lot of trouble dealing with it 'cause that was my best friend. That was my other half. That was my heart, my soul, my everything," she says.

Nira was a mechanic, but his family tells FOX 11, he always left weekends open to spend with this children.

"Two days before he went to the hospital, he went to get my first car. He was there to check it out for me and everything and make sure everything's OK for me," Aniya Trejo, Nira’s oldes daughter says.

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
