As any good fisherman knows, the job isn’t done until the fish is in the boat. A fisherman in Australia didn’t get the chance to reel in his big catch before another predator came and stole it away from him. Luckily he was least able to capture the startling moment that big one got away.
Geoff Trutwein's video of his epic theft has since gone viral.
“We had been out fishing for a few hours and Nat caught a juvenile blacktip shark and while he was reeling it in this saltwater croc decided he wanted that meal,” said Trutwein.
Both Trutwein and his buddy were shocked not only to catch the shark, but about the unexpected battle with the crocodile as well. Sadly, it was a battle they knew they would lose, and according to Daily Mail, eventually Trutwein cut the line, giving the crocodile the catch. While the two didn’t get their shark, at least they got the video to prove it happened.
