DALLAS, Texas (KRLD) — PepsiCo has been the main sponsor of the Super Bowl Halftime Show for the last decade. But, next year, some other company will have its label plastered all over it per the Sports Business Journal (SBJ).
The NFL is looking for another company to put up somewhere between $40 and $50 million for the show. The report says the leading contenders are Verizon or Amazon. And the National Football League is requiring the presenting sponsor to already be a sponsor in other areas.

The news doesn't mean the company's relationship with the NFL is over. The SBJ reports that PepsiCo will continue to be an NFL sponsor.
The SBJ first reported of PepsiCo's expiring halftime contract last October, explaining that the company's deal with the NFL on the most-watch television spot would expire in February, after 10 years.
With brands like Verizon and Amazon in the running to take over the show, there are rumors swirling that the Super Bowl Halftime show could go from 12 minutes to an expanded media opportunity that could be marketed year-round, according to Reporter Ben Fischer with the SBJ.
"Consider the potential assets: On-demand replays, extended cuts, secondary concerts, behind-the-scenes access, a making-of docuseries and follow-ups about the impact on the performer’s career," Fischer wrote, explaining that bringing on a media-based company for the show could make it much more exciting and engaging for fans.
