A Grand Canyon basketball player and his sister were among three people who died in a Tuesday car crash in California.
Oscar Frayer, a four-year starter for the Antelopes, and his 28-year-old sister Andrea Moore perished along with an unidentified third person in a crash in Lodi, the Phoenix-based school announced on Thursday.
Two police officers were also seriously injured in the early-morning incident, according to CBS News.
GCU coach Bryce Drew said he was "thankful" to have had the opportunity to coach Frayer.
Frayer played 25 minutes in Grand Canyon's loss to Iowa in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday. He registered 8 points, 3 blocks, 1 steal and 3 rebounds in his final game.
The 23-year-old senior was set to graduate in April, the Associated Press reported.
Frayer helped Grand Canyon reach March Madness for the first time in its history, averaging 6.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game in the regular season. The 6-foot-6 native of Oakland graduated from Moreau Catholic High School in nearby Hayward.
