
MORRO BAY, Calif. (KNX) — One person was killed in a shark attack just north of Atascadero Road in Morro Bay, police said Friday.
The attack happened around 10:48 a.m., the Morro Bay Police Department said in a statement, explaining that the man was unresponsive when pulled from the water following the attack.
"At this time the victim has not been identified and San Luis Obispo County Coroner's Office with State Parks and representatives are currently on scene investigating the incident," police said.
Harbor, police and fire departments responded to the attack. At this point it's unclear what the man was doing and how far out in the water he was when the attack happened.
