Authorities shut down one of largest illegal marijuana operations in California on Wednesday, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Detectives conducted over a dozen search warrant operations throughout undisclosed locations in the Bay Area to take down an "organized and sophisticated network of individuals" who made "tens of millions of dollars" while avoiding state marijuana regulations.
Officials estimated they seized over 100,000 plants and upwards of $10 million worth of cash during the bust.
In addition, the facilities housed "millions of dollars in infrastructure, equipment, lighting, generators and supplies."
"The enormity and complexity of this illegal grow operation cannot be expressed in words or pictures, it’s unbelievable," officials said in a release.
Officers will remain on the scene over the next several days to process the "enormous" amount of evidence.
It’s unclear which cities the illegal operations were being conducted in.
