Vice President Kamala Harris will head to California on Wednesday to campaign alongside Gov. Gavin Newsom against Sept. 14’s recall election. The pair are set to appear at a rally in the Bay Area.
The vice president was originally supposed to join Newsom on the campaign trail last month, but plans were scuttled after a bom was detonated at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, killing 13 American servicemembers.
Harris’ visit comes on the heels of other national Democratic turning out to support the incumbent governor. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren campaigned for Newsom in Culver City on Friday.
President Joe Biden is also expected to appear with Newsom sometime before next week’s recall election, but no specifics have been released by the governor’s campaign or the White House to date.
