DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Dallas is one of the ten most diverse cities in the country, according to a new study from Wallethub.com.
Dallas ranked 5th on the list. Arlington was 9th, while Houston was at the very top of the list.
"We looked at over 500 cities, so three cities in the top five is something to be proud of," said Jill Gonzalez with Wallethub.com. Houston surpassed New York and Los Angeles, she said, partly due to its cultural, birthplace and religious diversity. The survey also measured socioeconomic diversity and household diversity.
"Generally, economies fare better when they are embracing and capitalizing on new ideas, which diversity does bring along - so a lot of the cities are going strong and growing rapidly," Schlesinger said.
