DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Both American Airlines and Southwest Airlines are sticking with the plan, they will continue to fly their 737 Max 8 jets.

The European Avition Safety Agency, Malaysia and Oman, all have closed airspace to 737 Max 8s until a cause of Sunday's crash is known.

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants asked American Airlines CEO Doug Parker to ground the company's 24 Max 8s while the investigation continues.

Union president Lori Bassani says the flight attendants don't have to get on the plane if they feel unsafe.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz tweeted that he believes it would be prudent for the United States likewise to temporarily ground 737 Max aircraft until the FAA confirms the safety of these aircraft & their passengers.

So far the Federal Aviation Administration has resisted calls to ground the planes. Krause says that may change later today due to political pressure.

In light of the decisions of regulatory agencies across the world to ground the Model 737 Max, I believe it would be prudent for the United States likewise to temporarily ground 737 Max aircraft until the FAA confirms the safety of these aircraft & their passengers.
