MESQUITE (1080 KRLD) - The Amazing Acro Cats are in the Metroplex for a set of purrfect performances.

They're a group of over a dozen orphans, rescues and strays and Chief Executive Human Samantha Martin say they do some really cool tricks. "We've got cats that roll barrels, cats that jump through hoops and walk a high wire, push a shopping cart."

Every show is different because it's...cats.  And cats kind of do what they want. "The cats have their moods.  Sometimes they feel more energetic than others."

In fact, sometimes they stray into the audience for an impromptu meet and greet.  Martin warns every audience not to storm for the exit should that happen.  It is, after all, just a highly trained cat.

The show ends with the rock cats...the world only cat band. There's a cat on drums, guitar, keyboard, chimes, cowbell, saxophone and trumpet (don't ask). There's even a chicken (Cluck Norris!) on cymbal and tambourine. Cluck also bowls against a cat during the acrobatic part of the show.

And if all that isn't enough, the show's emcee is a hedgehog.

They'll perform tonight and tomorrow at the Mesquite arts center.
