KATY (1080 KRLD) - A five-foot-long gator slithered out from a bayou and decided to sun itself near some train tracks in Katy, Texas.

Someone saw it and became concerned. They called police and Patrol Captain Bryon Woitek with Katy police says, "We contacted our Humane Officer who came out and got the alligator. The alligator was released  to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden."

The alligator was put in a temporary cage and released it back to its home in the bayou.

Woitek says, "If you see an alligator or another creature where it's not supposed to be, don't approach them. Instead, contact us and let us handle it."
